All-American Rejects Revive Backyard Concerts with Their House Party Tour

The All-American Rejects are back — and they’re not doing things the traditional way. With their House Party Tour, the band is turning backyards and college lawns into impromptu concert venues, bringing raw energy and nostalgic hits straight to the fans.

Though they jokingly call themselves “rejects,” the massive crowds that show up prove otherwise. The House Party Tour is a refreshing alternative to flashy stadium shows, reminding everyone that all you really need is great music, youthful spirit, and a big enough backyard.

Their timeless anthems like “Swing Swing,” “Move Along,” and “Gives You Hell” first became the soundtrack of Millennial youth. Now, those same songs are winning over a new generation, inspiring the band to reconnect with fans through the grassroots vibe of the House Party Tour.

According to frontman Tyson Ritter, this back-to-basics journey began as a fun way to promote their upcoming album Sandbox. But what started as a promotional idea quickly snowballed into something much bigger. Fans began requesting shows in their neighborhoods, and soon, videos of surprise concerts were flooding social media — some even interrupted by police (who still let them finish one more song).

After two decades together, the members are feeling more alive than ever. “This is the best experience we’ve ever had playing music,” Ritter said. They’re capturing every moment from the House Party Tour and planning to release a film along with their new album.

Guitarist Nick Wheeler said the magic of the tour has inspired the band to chase “new nostalgia” with Sandbox, aiming to create the same emotional connection their early hits sparked.

And they’re not stopping at backyards — the Rejects are headlining Comic-Con’s Fandom Party and joining the Jonas Brothers on tour this fall. But no matter the stage, the House Party Tour spirit will come with them.

As Ritter puts it, what they’re doing isn’t just punk rock — it’s pure connection.
